The call with an initial budget of 8 million euros supports interventions to combat the loss of steppe habitats through the restoration of soil quality in terms of carbon enrichment.
These actions are aimed at unlocking the economic potential of genetic resources in the value chain, restoring conditions of widespread semi-naturality and ecological connectivity, as well as the dissemination of specific practices, such as organic production methods and other systems of certification of respect for biodiversity.
The commitment is for 5 years from 15 May 2017 to 14 May 2022. The aid is granted in the form of a payment per unit area subject to the commitment. Only arable crops are eligible for the premium.
