Territory
The territory of the Valle d'Itria LAG extends for 532,20 square kilometres, from the balcony of the Ionian to the Adriatic coast, through hilly hills and monumental olive trees. Unique in its kind, it attracts the attention of tourists from all over the world for its environmental and naturalistic richness, biodiversity and rural architecture characterized by trulli and historic farms.
Objectives
- Creating a system of eco-sustainable reception and use of the territory;
- developing farms committed to the enhancement of biodiversity;
- integrating reception systems and sustainable growth of coastal areas;
- investing in the development of production chains, in the reception network and in tourism services;
- educating in territorial planning;
- setting up non-agricultural business activities in rural areas.
