Territory
Meridaunia LAG extends over an area of 2,286. 56 square kilometers bordering on Molise, Campania and Basilicata. The area comprises 30 municipalities and boasts a great heritage of historical, cultural and environmental resources. The area is also known for its "historic villages" located in a landscape that alternates between peaks and natural basins such as Lake Occhito.
Objectives
- Strengthening the economic fabric of the area;
- creating youth employment by connecting the "tourism" and "agriculture" sectors; stimulating the repopulation of the territory and enhance the social capital of the area;
- enhancing the cultural, handicraft and naturalistic heritage through new forms of tourism;
- enhancing the value of typical local production;
- promoting innovation, diversification and competitiveness of small/medium sized agricultural enterprises in the territory.
