Territory
The territory of the LAG Magna Grecia includes 12 municipalities with a total population of 119,703 inhabitants and a surface area of 407. 07 square kilometres. The morphological conformation is characterized by hills, plains and the coasts of the Ionian-Salentine coast. Agricultural production is concentrated on the cultivation of: olives, vines, cereals, almonds and fruit. The rural landscape is dotted with numerous farms and a rich historical, architectural and artisan-artistic heritage.
Objectives
- Developing, innovating and integrating local production systems (tourism, agriculture, crafts) in a sustainable way;
- strengthening the attractiveness of the territory;
- stimulating youth entrepreneurship;
- enhancing networks of public-private connections;
- increasing the use of technological services on the territory;
- expanding market opportunities while respecting the environment and the historical and cultural peculiarities of the territory.
