Beneficiaries

The premium can be requested by: 

• peasants; 
• farmers' associations; 
• public bodies; 
• management bodies of national and regional parks. 

Objectives

Submeasure 10. 1. 5 aims to protect livestock biodiversity: 

• safeguarding indigenous breeds in order to maintain and increase the number of local breeds; 
• restricting reproduction between animals belonging to the same family; 
• increasing the rusticity of animals to develop disease resistance and reduce the impact on environmental resources.

Commitments

When you’ll receive the premium, you’ll commit yourself to: 

• breed animals identified in herd books or registries; 
• maintain the number of Livestock Unit (LSU) declared in the application as pure for at least 5 years.

You can apply for the prize if 

reserve funding for the rearing of local breeds in danger of extinction included in the regional list.

Selection principles

There is no minimum admissible score. The score cannot be accumulated. The 100 points are assigned in the territorial scope according to the location of the agricultural areas in the preferential areas.
The beneficiaries and the types of operations activated are not relevant for the purposes of scoring.

In the case of farms falling within more than one type of preferential area, indicated among the territorial areas, the score will be assigned in proportion to the territory falling within the areas. In the event of equal points, priority will be given to applications for support for varieties with a level of risk of 2 in descending order of area occupied by the same.

Amount of the premium

The annual premium is paid by UBA and is differentiated by breed.
