The actions supported by the call for proposals of Operation 4.4B concern exclusively those falling within the Natura 2000 Network areas and in sites of high naturalistic value.
With a budget of 10 million euro, the following are financed:
- material investments for the recovery and restoration of natural and semi-natural habitats such as reticular structural elements (hedges and buffer strips if not subject to conditionality) and punctiform elements (small permanent and temporary wetlands with lenticular waters, ponds, fountains, springs and resurgences);
- material investments for the recovery of dry stone structures with specific function of habitat of species of Community interest, such as cisterns and other forms of water storage, also in implementation of the provisions of the Regional Territorial Landscape Plan (PPTR) of Puglia for the "Ecological Network";
- realization of appropriate fences for the delimitation of areas at risk of conflict between extensive zootechnics and predators (in particular the wolf), of the most fragile habitats where it is necessary to limit the impact due to uncontrolled anthropic access, of areas where there are needs of taxonomic groups of major conservation interest and of carnai in the conservation areas of the populations of necrophagous birds.
